I went all last year in Lacrosse Estuary waders and couldn't wear anything other than leggings underneath because the calve area of the boots was too tight. Thus I was always cold. So this year I set out to find a new pair. I tried the Lacrosse Hail Call waders next and although great waders, still the same calf size as the Estuary. So I switched brands and tried the Banded waders. Those were an odd fit all around but still too tight in the calves. My next waders were these Gators. OH WOW!! I would pay Sitka prices for these babies! They are AMAZING!! They are super warm, super comfortable and I have so much room in the calves!! Now just for reference, I'm 5'3" and 135lbs with muscular calves. I'm a size 7 boot normally but ordered these in a medium 8 based on the size chart listed. These fit almost perfectly. I just had to adjust the shoulder straps to the shortest setting. The ONLY issue I have with these waders is the shoulder straps and buckle connection placement. Due to my size and how my waders are adjusted, the buckle sits near where I place my gun and it gets in the way (when I have to shoot quickly like duck hunting). For this reason, I have to wear a jacket over the waders to prevent it from getting in the way. I wish they would change the design of the straps to more of the Sitka wader style for this very reason. (If you know hunting and Sitka you know they don't make waders for ladies - or people with smaller than a size 9 boot.) Still, I love love love these waders. I look great in them. I'm comfortable and warm... I just can't shoot quickly in them. Hahaha! :)
