Perfect for all my plugins. And this does not get warm or hot like all the other units I have tried. The detachable usb-c cable is a brilliant design choice. Our development team uses usb-c hubs all the time, and the primary point of failure for every model we've ever used has been the molded cable at the hub. Looking forward to getting a lot of use out of this.In an ocean of dongles, no one seems to understand the needs to real users, when it comes to creating an excellent hub for MacBook Pro or Air with Thunderbolt ports. This unit from Satechi gets some credit though, as it tackles very basic and necessary connections needed by most people. First of all, one negative is that, in order for this hub to do anything, it needs to be plugged in to electricity on the PD USB-C port on one side, it does not even ready SD cards without power so, just connect it and you can use it. Second, the same complaint as many others out there, it slows down my external SSD to 315MB/s, as opposed to 425MB/s I get from my older iMac with USB 3.0 ports, unfortunately, dunno if that is coming from the circuitry in the Satechi hub or from the Thunderbolt 4 ports in my MacBook Pro M1...Sad! Well, the 4k output is great, I'm even able to drive my 55in Vizio 4k TV, reports 60Hz 4k and that's all I need. ***One important fact, this Amazon posts says the unit does not provide power from any of the data ports in the unit, even the manual says nothing about but, in reality I was able to charge my iPhone 12 from the USB-A 3.0 that is exactly across from the USB-C / PD port on the other side, so it does provide power on that port only. The ethernet is great, the VGA output port is hard to understand...why do I need that these days?? I wish it had another HDMI 2.0 or at least a DP port or something else. Overall a good unit and I would still recommend it!This USB C hub is really good. In my country, you cannot buy this and if someone sell this product, the price is insanely expensive, about $200. I'm impressed with the quality. All ports are working fine. You can use both SD cards and MicroSD at the same time. I have tried plugging in all the ports and it can handle it with no issues. People complaining about the HDMI is not 60Hz. For me, 60Hz is working fine and support HDR too (amazing!). The only thing is, the USB ports is only USB3.0 and 5Gbps. It will slow down my SSD speed a little bit but I'm okay with it. My mouse receiver dongle will lag and jump due to interference caused by USB3.0. So I will use another USB C to USB A converter for this. Lastly, the hub is not hot when using it. Overall, I can easily recommend this product to other people.Preface: I am an animator, lots of cables and external SSDs.Bought this because I bought the M1 MacBook Pro and and it comes with a disappointing 2 usb-c outlets. I saw this Satechi product that had just come out and seeing how there's a Satechi product that Apple recommends as well, I bought this. I am very happy that this comes with the removable usb-c cable as it makes for a travel friendly usb-c hub. This also makes for a great hub due to the fact that it has 2 usb-c ports, one for the charging, but one for also attaching a usb-c SSD, which I have. Using this with the M1, I can charge directly in the M1 with one of its ports, but also attach this and charge my phone and attach a usb-c SSD. It's hard to find a hub out there that does the whole 2 usb-c thing if you're deep in the usb-c ecosystem. Ethernet is an added bonus. I do wish that instead of the VGA out, there could be another port instead. I also wish it came with some sort of case, as I could see this hub getting very dinged up in a backpack. Overall, very happy with my purchase.Provides a versatile power, data and audio solution I require for a Live Music Gig Setup at the Dal Rae Restaurant in Pico Rivera on April 2nd, 2022. I've been using this for about a month now, but the picture is from last night.List of Equipment Connected:12.9" Apple iPad Pro 5th Gen, Yamaha CP73 Stage Piano using the USB-B Audio Input from the Jamzone App, Behringer Flow 8 Bluetooth Digital Mixer, RavPower PD Pioneer 26800mAh Portable Charger is providing Power to the Flow 8 Mixer and the iPad Pro through the USB-C On-The-Go Multiport 9-in-1 Portable USB Hub.The Satechi works flawlessly, and has earned a permanent place in my Live Music Rig for the foreseeable future!Used with my IPad Pro M1, opens up using multiple accessors while being able to charge at the same time.I love itGood but the price noI was looking for powerful multi port usb hub/dock and short listed two, this one at £89 and a brand I've never heard of before, FitFort with more multi port options at just over £32. I've brought Satechi before and I thought it was a premium brand and you got what you paid for... how wrong can you be? I'm so glad I took a punt on the FitFort dock. One of the main uses for the hub was to run an external 4K monitor at 60 herts, something I was shocked to find the Satechi hub can't do, but the cheaper FitFort dock does with ease. The one thing that is good about the Satechi is it has a long and short connecting cable, but at a difference of over £57 between these hubs, yes, let that sink in, £57! I will be returning the Satechi hub.I only have this adapter for a couple of weeks but am delighted with it so far. The facilities on the sites where I work vary so I regularly need to switch from cable to cable (including VGA) and this adapter allows me to do that without having to lug a selection along. A game changer for me.This product doesn't support a Mac drive to use DVD, so I returned it.One has to buy such equipment for connectivity with newer MacBook laptops. I find it very useful. It fulfils my needs. I would recommend it.Amazing quality, has a charge-through port which is ESSENTIAL in my opinion. Extra long cable AND retractable mini cable provided. Worth the extra cost for peace of mind.
